A new cloud service platform offers stakeholders in the events industry a simple and structured approach to define sustainability strategies for events and measure their impact: d&b SustainSymphony – accessible at the web address https://www.dbsustainsymphony.com/en.
The platform was developed based on ESG Portal technology, an adaptation of the ESG Cockpit for target group-specific data collection. The initiator and operator is d&b audiotechnik, manufacturer of high-end sound reinforcement systems.

Quickly achieving a green “thumbs up”
The platform supports a continuous improvement cycle following the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” principle. A user-friendly rating system, including recommendations, helps quickly identify best practices – making d&b SustainSymphony also suitable for newcomers to the field.
Efficiently engaging stakeholders
In addition to event organizers or their sustainability managers themselves, event venues and locations as well as service providers and suppliers also have access to the platform:
Venue operators can input their available annual sustainability data, while suppliers can list their sustainable services and products, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and certificates. This makes it easier for event planners to select “green” services, and the platform can quickly derive event-specific emission calculations.
Measuring impact with established standards
The platform calculates greenhouse gas emissions according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (all types of emissions, including those in upstream and downstream chains) and considers sustainable event management according to ISO 20121:2024.
Communication support
Data collections can be exported and sustainability reports derived, allowing goals to be reviewed and adjusted. The portal also enables users to communicate their sustainability status and to network.
The standard version of d&b SustainSymphony is free to use. The platform complies with GDPR, and green servers in the EU are utilized.
