Free climate accounting tool for members of the Austrian Economic Chambers
The KlimaPortal of the Austrian Economic Chambers is a free web service available to all member businesses. It is especially aimed at SMEs that are just beginning their climate accounting journey.
By using your own company data, you can test what climate accounting means. You’ll get a sense of which data is needed for which business areas and how to get started with regular accounting.
The KlimaPortal is especially helpful for those who have not yet developed an ESG reporting strategy (as a counterpart to financial accounting), as ESG disclosures are increasingly demanded—whether in the financial market, in tenders, or when entering into business partnerships.
Try out the KlimaPortal at events in May and June 2025 in Vienna and Linz
Theory is great, but hands-on testing and sharing insights is even better. You’ll have the chance to experience the tool live—at the WKO EDAY (May 8, 2025) and at the WKOÖ Sustainability Day (June 5, 2025)!

An offering from the ESG Portal series
The KlimaPortal, commissioned by the Salzburg Economic Chamber, is part of our series of ESG Portals for sector-specific group surveys. It uses the established calculation methodology of the ESG Cockpit.
The KlimaPortal provides three key results:
- CO2 Footprint: Representation of the total impact on the climate
- Climate Indicator: Current status of the organization on the path to climate neutrality
- Scope 1, 2, and 3 Emissions: Greenhouse gas emissions across the entire value chain according to the GHG Protocol
In addition to the WKO, companies have already commissioned sector-specific versions of the ESG Portal. For example, we developed the d&b SustainSymphony for d&b Audiotechnik. This portal is dedicated to the event industry, stakeholders can network to collect sustainability data from events and improve strategies.
